Fence Permit Application

For constructing, altering or relocating a fence within the City of Griswold.

Fees

$20 (construction value $0–$1,000) · $30 ($1,001–$10,000) · $40 ($10,001–$25,000) · $50 ($25,001 and over). Fee is due at City Hall before the permit is issued.

Iowa State Law requires you notify Iowa One Call before digging: call 811 or 1-800-292-8989, or visit iowaonecall.com.

If the fence is on a shared lot line, you'll also need a letter from the neighboring property owner and proof of agreement filed with the County Recorder — bring these separately.
